Canopy Warranty Registration

Every Container Canopies cover carries a 10-year warranty. Registration turns that coverage on. Send us the form and your install photos within 30 days. Your canopy is then covered.

It takes about ten minutes.

How to Register Your Canopy Warranty

Three steps. Do them once, right after the install is finished.

  1. Fill out the form. You need the customer details, the canopy spec, and the contractor details.
  2. Take the photos. The list is below. Shoot them before your crew leaves the site.
  3. Submit within 30 days of the install date.

Details You Need Before You Start

  • Customer name and site address
  • Canopy size and type. Not sure? Check the canopy sizes and specs page.
  • Walls: front, back, half, or none
  • Installation contractor name
  • Install date
  • Contractor phone and email

Installation Photos Required for Warranty Validation

The photos prove the canopy went up right. Missing photos hold up your registration.

  • Mounting rails, clamps, and trusses. Show each clamp as close to the truss spigots as it will go.
  • Clamps and Tek screws. Show all five Tek screws in each clamp. Include the end clamps.
    Straps and ratchets. Shoot them close to the trusses and clamps.
  • Rope lacing and trusses. Shoot from inside and outside. Show tight lacing, even spacing along the truss, and a tight pelmet.
  • Vee bracing and purlins.
  • Walls. Front wall, back wall, and half wall, inside and out.
  • Secured canopy flaps.
  • Completed canopy from both ends.

What the 10-Year Canopy Warranty Covers

Container Canopies covers failure of the structural membrane under normal weather patterns. The cover is warranted for ten years from the install date.
Coverage is prorated. Every year in service uses up one tenth of the retail replacement cost.
Our Operations team answers your questions at any point in those ten years. The same 10-year cover warranty runs across the range. That includes our data center canopies and generator enclosures.

How to Secure Canopy Flaps on the Container Roof

Pick one of these three methods. Any of them validates this part of the warranty. You just have to send photos. Full step detail sits in your installation manual.

Method 1: Aluminum track screwed into the container roof
  1. Feed the kidder line sewn into the flap edge into the matching track channel.
  2. Fix the track to the roof with the gasketed self-tapping screws supplied.
  3. Lay a run of sandbags onto the canopy.
Method 2: Aluminum track on a flat bar welded to the roof

Use this when you do not want to pierce the container roof.

  1. Feed the kidder line into the aluminum track.
  2. Stretch the track and mark where it meets the roof. Leave 1 to 3 inches of play so air can pass. Do not pull it drum tight.
  3. Mark that position at intervals along the container. Stitch weld a flat bar to the high points of the roof corrugation. Use 2 inch wide bar, 3/16 inch max.
  4. Screw the aluminum track to the flat bar with the gasketed screws.
Method 3: Guttering system

Built for the canopy. It carries rain and snowmelt off the roof. It also secures the flaps.

  1. Set the hat channel across the width of the container. Fix it to the outer upper rail with a Tek screw.
  2. Lay the 10 foot guttering sheets so they stretch the flaps once extended. Overlap each sheet toward the run-off end.
  3. Seal every juncture with the sealant supplied.
  4. Fit the four end caps with the gasketed screws. Seal on all three sides.

Severe Weather, Anchoring, and Acts of God

Severe weather counts as an Act of God. That covers sustained and isolated events, predicted or already known.
Container Canopies covers membrane failure under normal weather patterns. No steel or traditional structure survives extreme winds, tornados, cyclones, or monsoons untouched. Ours is no exception.
If your site is prone to these events, you must anchor the containers. Containers that shift can bring the structure down. They can also put people and equipment at risk.
When severe weather is forecast, remove the canopy. Take it off in full. Or pull it to one side, gather it, and strap it to a container. Skipping this voids the warranty.

Warranty Registration Questions

How long do I have to register?
Thirty days from the install date. Send the form and the photos together.
Who registers the warranty, the customer or the installer?
Either one. The form asks for both sets of details. Whoever has all of it should file.
What happens if I skip the photos?
Your registration is not complete, so the warranty is not valid. Photos of the secured flaps are required every time.
Does the warranty cover storm damage?
It covers membrane failure under normal weather patterns. Severe weather counts as an Act of God and is not covered. Remove or secure the canopy when a storm is forecast.
Can I install a canopy that does not meet my local wind and snow loads?
Yes, with a signed Hold Harmless document from the dealer or end user. Talk to our engineers first. There is often a canopy in the range that does meet your numbers.
What if I lose my paperwork?
